About this deal

Even with these concerns in mind, these boots are still easy to recommend to those on a budget. There are enough positive comments from happy buyers to suggest it might offer value after all, as there are no complaints about comfort or waterproofing. The construction and stitching are great, but the uppers seem to lose their weatherproofing over time. One user complains about the amount of aftercare needed to keep these shoes at their best. I've had these bad boys for just over 2 years now, and admittedly I don't do 8 mile walks every week, but I do wear these shoes most days, (I even chose them over my Doc's now!) as they are just the most comfortable boots I've ever owned, and they don't look half bad either (until I tore the laces)!

We managed to find 1 items that were made by Peter Storm and are categorised as “Waterproof Leather”. While many wearers appreciate the comfort and protective features, there are others that worry about the longevity of the shoe. This is to be expected with something at this price point. Then there are the protective features of this more practical women’s shoe. The uppers are made to be completely waterproof but also breathable with the liner. There are however some methods that you can use to determine a product’s quality without needing to physically have it. In this review of the Peter Storm Ormskirk walking boots, we give them a good dunking to see how waterproof they really are. ***

Reliably warm and waterproof, Peter Storm Women’s Snowdon II Walking Boots are like leather workhorses, perfect for wet-weather conditions

But, that doesn’t mean that they are a bad choice in the short term. The fit and feel of these smart shoes are great for general use, such as dog-walking or weekend walks on the wetter ground. So, the Peter Storm boots could still prove to be a great choice.

Then there are the features for protection in bad weather. There is more here than expected for a shoe under three figures. That got us thinking though, that we’re looking at every possible item from Peter Storm so it would be good to narrow our search down even further and only look at Peter Storm branded products within the Waterproof Leather category. The cost of Peter Storm Waterproof Leather Still, there are some complaints here and there about this Peter Storm Grizedale model to be aware of. This is a very affordable walking boot that looks like it should cost more than it does. This may mean that the components aren’t high end and may not last as long as you would hope for.Lets’ start with the comfort provided by this Peter Storm walking boot. There is a strong upper across the foot that reaches up into a nice padded ankle. This looks like it will be great for longer walks, but there is more inside too. Using the table: Survey (conducted in March and April 2021) is based on data from 3,118 Which? members who own walking boots bought since 2016. ‘-’ = there isn’t enough data. Average price paid is based on the mean amount members paid for their footwear. Customer score is based on satisfaction and whether members would recommend the brand. Zamberlan walking boots While there may still be some issues with the longevity of the weatherproofing, there shouldn’t be too many issues here as long as you get the right size. Now you wouldn't be trekking the Himalayas, but for the occasional hike with kids, there's no excuse not to kit yourself out. Things to look for when buying walking boots

There are some great comments from wearers of these shoes about the comfort experienced – both long term and short term. Taking them up on the hills and through muddy forests, the boots have remained comfortable and dry. When buying Waterproof Leather, the quality of the product is going to be one of the factors that you really scrutinise before you commit to buying. Altberg is another top-scoring boot brand from our survey. Its roots were laid in Richmond, North Yorkshire, in 1989, and its factory is still there today – as well as a second in Italy. The boots are handmade and the fit is something members seemed to like, awarding Altberg the full five stars in this category. Survey respondents loved that they could buy boots in half sizes and various widths - suiting those with both wide and narrow feet.verifyErrors }}{{ message }}{{ /verifyErrors }}{{ Although the walking boots were soaked, it wasn't quite the same as a real downpour though: if you have waterproof trousers on, all that rainwater heads straight down to your boots, and if you've not protected your legs correctly (i.e. wear some gaiters - see here), your boots will fill with water. The only issue I've had is that the 'lace hooks' occasionally catch against each other/ the other shoe - but this is because I walk with my feet very close together, and tend to trip on my own feet regularly. The seam on one of them looks like it's starting to go - and I'm disappointed the laces frayed so soon, and most recently the fast wearing of the sole now making these boots unfit for purpose.
