Roberts, David (2006). British Hit Singles & Albums (19thed.). London: Guinness World Records Limited. p.508. ISBN 1-904994-10-5. Despite the fact that they were together only four years, Small Faces' music output from the mid- to late sixties remains as notable as any British beat and psychedelic music of that era. AllMusic refers to them as "the best English band never to make it big in America". [3] They received the Ivor Novello Outstanding Contribution to British Music "Lifetime Achievement" award in 1996. [4] [5] Albums [ edit ] Studio albums [ edit ] Title Their journey in the music business is as vivid and colourful as their music. And theirs is a legacy which lives on – raw and soulful music which inspired a whole new generation of stars including Paul Weller and The Jam, Oasis, Blur, The Verve, Ocean Colour Scene, and The Arctic Monkeys. Not to mention millions of fans.

The show opened to critical acclaim and nightly standing ovations at the Vaults Theatre in London in March 2016. Audiences were blown away by the vivid underground vibe on stage. So, after extending its sold-out run, All Or Nothing embarked on its first major UK tour. Kent, David (1993). Australian Chart Book 1970–1992 (illustrateded.). St Ives, N.S.W.: Australian Chart Book. p.278. ISBN 0-646-11917-6. The sharpest Mod of all was known as a ‘face’. The Small Faces encapsulated all that is Mod, a unique blend of taste and testosterone, clothes obsessed, streetwise and dedicated to ‘Rhythm and Blues.’A re-release scaled the charts in the mid-1970s and probably inspired the Small Faces unsuccessful 1975-78 reunion. Lane left after the first rehearsal, and the band never really reached the peak of their first run with their new material. According to Kay Marriott, Steve's mother, Steve wrote this song about his split with ex-fiancée Sue Oliver, though first wife Jenny Rylance states that Marriott told her he wrote the song for her as a result of her split with Rod Stewart. Both statements are said to be correct. [4] Following Marriott's death in a house fire in 1991, the song was played as the requiem at his funeral. [5] In popular culture [ edit ]

A Ronnie Lane slice of psychedelia released in August 1967, it was one of the first hits to boast the disorientating "flanging" effect, it got to number three in the UK chart and was The Small Faces only Top 40 song in the US, getting as high as number 16 over the Atlantic. Since its creation All Or Nothing the Mod Musical has introduced many new audiences to the world of theatre, and has gained thousands of loyal fans around the globe . A nettle-infested Little Ilford Park in Manor Park, a wasp-filled Valentine's Park in Ilford or Wanstead Flats in Wanstead... no-one can quite agree of the location of the "real" Itchycoo Park, but everyone can agree that it's one of the very best songs of the 1960s.

He also made some notable albums in his own name, including the 1976 solo debut Marriott. 1990’s Marriott & Band included versions of his treasured Small Faces songs “All Or Nothing” and “What’cha Gonna Do About It.” ‘I’ve got what I wanted’ The song was also a major hit in both the Netherlands, where it reached number two and Ireland, where it reached number three. It was also the first song by the Small Faces to chart in the Republic of Ireland, as " Whatcha Gonna Do About It", " Sha-La-La-La-Lee" and " Hey Girl" all failed to do so.
